About Us

Student Personnel Services are the services and programs of HEIs that are concerned w/ academic support experience of students to attain holistic development. Academic Support services are those that relate to student welfare, development, and those that relate to institutional programs and services. These are services and programs needed to ensure and promote well-being of students.

Vision

Shall ESTABLISH, MAINTAIN AND SUPPORT a Complete, Adequate and Integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the students.


Mission

SPS aims to set MINIMUM STANDARDS on student affairs and services in order to:


  1. a. Properly balance between rights of educational institution and students rights
  2. b. Improve the quality of student affairs and services of BCSI
  3. c. Promote access to quality, relevant, efficient and effective students affairs and services
  4. d. Support students development and welfare

STRATEGIES:

  • a. To coordinate with school administration to ensure an adequate number of personnel to secure student population
  • b. Ensure that any fees collected must be judiciously disposed for student service by adapting mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability in the usage of fund.
  • c. Enhance information and orientation services by introducing informative activities and materials designed to facilitate adjustment to life in the tertiary level
  • d. Improve services of the guidance and counselling
  • e. Improve the system in appraisal, follow-up and referral system
  • f. continue to review, improve and update student handbook
  • g. Strengthen Student Development and Services:

OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

The objective of the OSA is to help create and maintain a healthy and student-friendly campus and an academic community that fosters the social, emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual and leadership development of students in relation to the college’s Mission and Vision.

Services Offered

    I.
  • Supervision of non-academic matters concerning student welfare that include monitoring of campus clubs and organizations and their activities; recommendation for the recognition of clubs and organizations; overseeing major campus activities; and selection and recommendation to the school president student leaders who may represent the college in local, regional, or national leadership seminars/fora and competitions.

  • External discipline and enforcement of non-academic policies of the College Unit.
  • III.
  • Implementation of measures on external discipline and student behavior.
  • IV.
  • Promotion of student conduct required in the campus as stipulated in the Student Handbook.
  • V.
  • Preparation of non-academic events and extra-curricular activities in close coordination with the college Deans, student organizations, moderators, and student leaders.

  • Supervision of the operation of the student leadership program
  • VIII.
  • Student Handbook preparation and publication.
  • IX.
  • Supervision of services, such as requests for an ID card, Certificate of Good Moral Character, Clearances for Honorable Dismissal

HEALTH SERVICES

The clinic is strategically located where it can be accessible and visible to all. The clinic is maintained to promote the health and wellbeing of the Brokenshire College community. It performs both preventive and curative functions to students and employees. A retainer Physician, Dentist and Nurse maybe hired to assist the College community.

  • b. Consultation and treatment for acute illnesses, whether medical or surgical
  • Issuance of medical certificates for Campus-related activities and programs.
  • Advocacy and preventive activities

  • a. Annual Dental Examination
  • b. Consultations and prescription of medication for patients with a toothache or an oral swelling
  • SCHOOL CANTEEN

    A school canteen is available in the campus to provide a comfortable, affordable and fast food service to students.

    STUDENT PUBLICATION

    The BC-HERALD is the official college student publication. Students can express their views on issues affecting them within the bounds of journalistic ethics. Students who wish to join as a publication staff may see the Director of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).

    LIBRARY SERVICES

    The college library is equipped with an adequate collection of books, references, journals manuals, encyclopedias, dictionaries, local and foreign magazines and Philippines dailies. Research can also be done through the internet and CD-ROMS. The Library is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

    COMPUTER LABORATORY

    To meet information technology needs, the College has computer laboratory to provide hands-on IT training to maximize the learning process.

    AUDIO VISUAL ROOM / AVR

    The AVR is a place where seminars and forum can be conducted. It can accommodate 150 participants. The AVR is also available for use by community aside from BCSI with minimal rental fee

    KUBO

    The Kubo is where students can meet and stay while waiting for their class. They can also be used as meeting place for recognized organization. It is required, however, for all students to maintain its cleanliness.
